The Song You Came In On Who will hold your head up, If not for you? Who will hold your head up, If not for you? Who will sing you sweet songs, Who will sing you sweet songs? Who will sing you sweet song? Not me, but you. Who will love you all night, If not for you? Who will hold you all night, If not for you? Who will tuck your heart in, Who will tuck your your heart in? Who will tuck your heart in? Nobody, but you. Who will grow your garden, If not for you? Who will tend your garden, If not for you? Who will harvest and reap Flowers that smell so sweet? Everybody, thanks to you.

We’re All Gonna Die We’re All Gonna Die For now we sit and comb our hair Along one another’s side Swinging fast and not thinking Of the time When we’ll pass and miss one another so dear Time Moves fast and you don’t who will disappear Or when I’ve known all along That you might die while you’re still young I’ve loved my friends all the more For days with them are years in score of Time Doing the wash and scrubbing the floor Time Moves slow dusting off clocks and yearning for more Time Time Time Move slow dusting off clocks and yearning for more Time

Baby Ducks 05:21
Baby Ducks All the little baby ducks around the millpond are nestled in their mother’s down All the little children dancing round the maypole, ribbons twisting all around Oh but this too shall pass and fade away Oh but please let me come back again another day and stay Why’d you have to go and pick all them roses like they bloomed for you? Why’d you have to go and wake up the children before their naps were through? Oh but this too shall pass and fade away Oh but please let me come back again another day and stay Oh I never should have asked No I never should have asked No I never should have asked for what you gave Why’d you have to go and rustle all the hay before they could get it bailed? Why’d you have to go and give me an A, when you knew I had failed? Oh but this too shall pass and fade away, Oh but please let me come back again another day and stay Oh I never should have asked No I never should have asked No I never should have asked for what you gave Oh I never would have asked No I never would have asked No I never would have asked for what you gave Oh I never could have asked No I never could have asked No I never could have asked for what you gave (rinse and repeat) All the little baby ducks around the millpond are nestled

Hillside 07:04
Hillside Let the hillside roll your bedclothes Drawn tight with no folds Hold me close and don’t let go I don’t wanna be alone I wished on a star You are that star Near or far You are that star Light and easy I can handle Soft and gentle Place a ribbon in your window So I know when you’re home I wished for your heart You gave me your heart I hold it like a mountain You hold me like a range You are that star Comfort comes in the morning When the birds make their first sound Life did not come without warning From those who’ve been around I am aware of the dawning Here comes the sun (fade unto infinity)

Shaky Hands 02:54
Shaky Hands Sometimes my hands shake Sometimes the Earth quakes Sometimes I just fall down For falling down’s sake Sometimes my friends let me down, I’m rude to those who are around Sometimes I curse at the ground Just to curse at the ground Sometime I get an idear I wanna get outta here But I just stare at these walls And they go on for years Sometimes I make a mistake My poor ol lil heart breaks I don’t know what all I can take But I go on and take

RT 03:43
RT I cry like the morning dew Soft and damp and nothing new Surrounded by thoughts of you I so often like thinking of you But if I have to let you go If I have to let you go I will do so gracefully The way you let go of me No one’s ever treated me like you do No one may ever again I am learning to treat myself By the example set by my friends So, if I have to let you go If I have to let you go I will do so gracefully The way you let go of me Overcome with a sense that I belong Can’t say that anything is wrong Cold winds come and take my mind Carries the leaves off, one at a time I have to let you go If I have to let you go I will do so gracefully The way you let go of me I will do so gracefully The way the wind carries off the leaves

Aggravated 02:58
Aggravated You could find fault in anything that I do You feel the same about me Starlight, starbright, the headlights I see tonight Shining on eternally Well and you don’t need to ask me what you’re looking for You’ll find it in the fridge, and won’t you carry it out the door? You’ve been aggravating me! The laundry’s on the line and it’s raining again Won’t you pack up your clothes and be on your way? Flowers only bloom in good earth, not hardened clay Won’t you come back when you can carry me a bouquet? Well and you don’t need to ask me when that time is gonna be Your tail lights in the distance are the prettiest things I’ve seen Oh, you’ve been aggravating me! Oh you’ve been aggravating, oh you’ve been aggravating, oh you’ve been aggravating me!

Hillside Upstairs Let the hillside roll your bedclothes Drawn tight with no folds Hold me close and don’t let go I don’t wanna be alone I wished on a star You are that star Near or far You are that star Light and easy I can handle Soft and gentle Place a ribbon in your window So i know when you’re home I wished for your heart You gave me your heart I hold it like a mountain You hold me like a range You are that star Comfort comes in the morning When the birds make their first sound Life did not come without warning From those who’ve been around I am aware of the dawning Here comes the sun (fade unto the light)

Not Until Everything Felt So Shitty, Did a Butterfly Ever Look So Pretty If not for the butterfly, I’d surely lay down and die If not for the hills and the mountains to climb I know there is higher ground I need not feel so low down Let me rest on your wings so divine That I may learn to fly
10.
Death 02:01
Death Death I keep on falling in and out of love with you You Take my friends from their Earthly homes And let me wonder where they’ve gone For the clouds may have parted For you to cross the universe divide Death I will find comfort In your mystery I will abide For the clouds may have parted For you to cross the universe divide Death I will find comfort In your mystery I will abide

Remembering 03:13
Remembering I remember everything that you said to me Words linger like leaves on a tree Drift away in the fall and bud in the spring I remember the past, I remember the past I remember like it’s still happening Did your voice fall away when your body stopped breathing I don’t believe it and they have no proof With your eyes finally closed, I don’ think you stopped seeing I remember the past, I remember the past I remember like it’s still happening There’s a miracle in light and a miracle in darkness Shadow are just what you call I fall off the hillside into a field of softness I remember the past, I remember the past I remember like it’s still happening I remember the past, I remember your laugh I remember like your still laughing

about

We’re all gonna die. Yet life doesn’t end. This album is about the power of the seasons, the cycles of leaves falling and flowers blooming. We sing songs of beauty, humor, and butterflies; trauma, heartbreak, and grief. We learn what has come before us from the stories of the elderly and the hum of the woods. We write what we study. The voices on this album are as much our own as they belong to our ancestors. We cannot sing without those who have made us who we are- from the families we choose to those through out herstory who have pursued liberation. Listen to the harmonies on this record and you will be listening to millions of voices. You could call it folk music, we call it psychedelic rock n roll.

This album is dedicated to those who build and dismantle in the struggle for liberation.

all proceeds from this album will be made into reparations and go directly to Sojourners Land. Sojourners Land is an eco-spiritual practice space for Prismatic, Queer, Transgender, Intergender and Two-Spirit People of Color.

We would like to thank our friends, ancestors and ginormous queer family. We thank our dogs: Cookie, Mommie, and Marilla. Special thanks go to the goddessmother IDA, without whom we may have never met; Patrick Kukuchka for his stellar recording; Nona, Fletcher and Mind Rider records, Rai Yin Hsu, Ila Rose, Benjy Russell, Kris Brown, Claire and Leopard.
